Will the upcoming Boba Fett spin-off movie feature a complete stranger as the main character?

According to report from Latino Review, the man underneath the mask is not who everyone thinks he is. For those unfamiliar with the prequel films, "Episode II" reintroduced the beloved bounty hunter as the son of Jango Fett. Fett was being used to help create the Clone Army that would eventually turn into the imperial storm troopers. The addition of the origin story did away with the mystery that often surrounded the masked killer during "Episode V" and "VI."

However, Latino Review is claiming that the new spin-off film will look to regain the sense of mystery surrounding the character.

"To counter-act the prequels, the Boba Fett spin-off movie planned for 2018 has an interesting twist pitched by Episode VII writer Lawrence Kasdan: the spin-off will start with a complete stranger killing Boba Fett and taking his armor, starting a Man-With-No-Name bounty hunter tale," reported Latino Review. "So: someone kills the Boba Fett from the prequels and takes his armor and name. One this [sic] is for certain is that Kasdan didn't like the prequel and wants no Boba Fett Clone in the spin-off film."

While this would dismiss George Lucas' work in the prequels, it would certainly give the character underneath the mask an edge that was lost when the child version of the bounty hunter was introduced in the prequels.

Do you like the idea of Boba Fett's origin story being completely subverted in a spin-off movie?
