Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has denied any impending transfer for star player Julian Draxler.

The German attacker has been linked with Arsenal and Bayern Munich over the last few weeks, but it seems that Schalke is not interested in selling its top player at the moment.

"I have not been told that Julian would like to leave us, either in the winter or the summer," Heldt stated, according to ESPN. "There have not been any requests from any club regarding Julian.

"It boils down to wild speculation, which has been happening in England. The club could have also contacted us if they were interested," he added. "In recent weeks, all the stories regarding FC Schalke 04 in the English media have had very little substance."

Rumors have swirled about Arsenal looking to make a 40 million pound bid for Draxler in order to have him play alongside summer acquisition Mesut Ozil. Arsenal is already contending for the Premier League title and would likely be an even stronger contender if it managed to get its hands on such a talent as Draxler.

Bayern Munich has also been linked to Draxler, an unsurprising report considering the fact that Munich is seemingly looking to grab every young star it can get a hold of. The team grabbed Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund and also took Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona. All of these players are still young and have their best years ahead of them, so it would seem that manager Pep Guardiola is looking to build for the future. Draxler would also fit into this scheme.
