BBC's "Doctor Who" Season 8 is set for release in August, as was announced by BBC and BBC America last Friday. Along with the announcement was the release of the TV series' teaser trailer.

The trailer is very brief in that it only ran for only 15 seconds and did not ultimately give the viewers the scenes that they wanted to see. However, it showed a peep of Peter Capaldi, the new Doctor, when he was positioned in the TARDIS. Capaldi replaces Matt Smith in the eighth season of the TV series, while Jenna-Louise Coleman continues to play her role as Clara Oswald.

"Doctor Who" Season 8 will also feature a new character, who will be the Doctor's new companion. Samuel Anderson plays this role, whose character is named is Danny Pink. Ben Miller, Keeley Hawes, Frank Skinner, Hermione Norris, Tom Riley, Neve McIntosh,Paul Hickey, and Robert Goodman were all included in the cast of season 8, which will have 13 episodes.

"Doctor Who" is about the adventures of a Gallifreyan Time Lord who travels in space. The Time Lord is known as "the Doctor" to his friends. Filming of this season of the popular series initially started in January 2014 with a 2014 late summer release. It was, however, moved to the third quarter of this year where it will run a normal 13 episodes season. Directing the first two episodes is Ben Wheatley. Moffat long ago had confirmed that season 8 would have 13 episodes with a 2014 release date.

Before the cast of Doctor Who was announced by Capaldi, Moffat had acknowledged that the TV series would be released in the third quarter of this year. There were reports that there would a Christmas special, which would be the 13th episode of season 8.

The exact release date has not been announced yet, so for now we just have to be content in knowing that "Doctor Who" is coming this August.
