As the release date of the NBA 2K14 draws closer, 2K Sports continues to tease gamers with a few of the newest features sure to make anyone run to the nearest store when the game hits shelves. Latest on the string of updates is the New Orleans Pelicans updated jersey.

Yup, you heard that right! The game publishers just released a snapshot of the new threads the players will be wearing come the 2013-14 NBA season.

In case you haven't heard, NOLA has gone from being the stinging Hornets to (hopefully) the soaring Pelicans. Along with the name change is a revolutionized jersey that will signal a new start for the team.

Ronnie Singh, digital marketing director for 2K Sports, posted the in-game image on his Instagram and was cross-posted on his Twitter with the caption, "Pelicans jersey in #PlayStation3 and #XBOX360 #NBA2K14 on The Brow." The image released shows NOLA standout Anthony Davis donning the new look.

According to The HD Room, the images were released by 2K Sports shortly after the New Orleans Pelicans revealed the real versions of the basketball uniform.

The new jerseys come in two colors: white with gold and red trimmings for Home uniform, and blue with gold and red trimmings for Away. Both uniforms have New Orleans printed in bold, while each shorts have the new Pelicans logo.

NBA 2K14, which features LeBron James on the cover, will hit stores Oct. 1. It will be released to the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. 2K also confirmed that the game will come to the new Sony PlayStation 4 and the Microsoft Xbox One. Release dates for the two, however, have not been announced. A 2K Sports official also confirmed that the game will feature unique features for "both current and next-gen" games.
