Jeremy Lin may have had a subpar debut season with the Houston Rockets, but that doesn't mean he should leave the team. In fact, the team's newest and (probably) most prized commodity is excited to play alongside the point guard.

Many reports have surfaced about J. Lin's role on the team now that Dwight Howard is in the roster and James Harden is still playing guard. Many say the Rockets would do well to trade him for a better off-the-bench PG. However, this isn't an option for the team. Aside from an expected better season for him coming into his third season in the NBA, Lin also plays well with Howard's type of game.

In a July interview, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey told the Houston Chronicle that Lin's ability to attack the basket will work well with Howard. He also noted that Howard himself is excited to work with Linsanity.

"The reality is James [Harden] and Dwight [Howard] want to play with Jeremy and Omer," GM Morey told the news site. "I've been kicked down to assistant GM. They're going to be here."

The Chronicle also noted Howard's words of approval for Lin's game.

"Jeremy Lin will be very good playing with me. I'm going to do whatever I can to make those guys' [Lin and Omer Asik] lives better. I realize how much they mean to this team."

Notably, Mike Hoag of the Bleacher Report notes that Lin's type of play will ultimately help both Howard and Harden. He could also be the Rajon Rondo of the team.

"[Howard] should welcome Lin's ability to create off of the pick-and-roll, which will allow the team to open up lanes for Harden and free up shooters on the perimeter, including Howard," Hoag wrote in his article. "Think of Rajon Rondo in Boston for a moment. Teams differed at times, allowing Rondo open looks while focusing on the team's more prominent players, daring him to make them pay for it on the perimeter."
