One of Livia Brito's friend says the 27-year-old actress is a victim of plastic surgery.

The actress who starred in "Triunfo del Amor" supposedly got polymer injected to increase the size of her butt five years ago in Colombia. Now, her body is rejecting the material, and she has an infection, TV Notas said.

"She's living through a difficult time, and she lives in silence," the friend said. "She has had strong pain, caused by the material that was injected. ... She's already taking action on the matter, but it's still a delicate issue."

The source added that at the time polymer injections were very in vogue, but the consequences weren't very well known.

Brito became popular in 2010 for her work as Fernanda Sandoval in "Triunfo del Amor." She was then the protagonist in "Porque te Quiero, te Quiero." The actress has yet to make a statement about the plastic surgery.

As a matter of fact, her last update on Twitter was a relatively uplifting message.

"Life is more delicious at the gym," she said. "At the gym everything is happiness."

Brito is a host of "Bailando Por Un Sueño," and it has been said that the actress has been difficult to get along with on the set. She has supposedly caused problems with production, and she has had issues with Roberto Mitsuko, who serves as a judge. She's also taken issue with the wardrobe department.

Brito recently made headlines for showing how against Ajusco reporters she is.

Whenever she encounters them, she does what she can to get away. She believes they haven't treated her well, and she prefers not to grant them any interviews. Brito tells these reporters to get away and not to get near her. Sometimes she tells them to move to the side or she will not grant their co-workers an interview either.
