There is no question that Halo has been one of the best gaming franchises released since the dawn of video games, receiving massive ratings in addition to nominations and awards in different categories. The next installment, Halo 5: Guardians, is one of the most anticipated titles not just in the franchise, but in the gaming world as a whole.

With a more powerful console as its platform, Halo 5 promises to deliver a more exhilarating experience. Bonnie Ross, general manager of 343 Industries, posted on Xbox Wire that Halo 5 is a bigger effort than its predecessor. Halo 4 was already a huge success to begin with, so a lot can definitely be expected from this new installment, expected to be released sometime next year. Ross further added that huge efforts were invested in reconfiguring the technology to take full advantage of the more powerful hardware of the Xbox One. The game will feature new experiences in new worlds worthy of next-gen gaming, especially while taking advantage of the impressive 60fps capability.

343 Industries itself is excited for the release of the highly anticipated game. With its release in 2015, Halo will not simply be limited to a gaming franchise -- the universe will also expand to television. The upcoming Xbox Originals that will feature the Halo television series will surely complement and enrich the videogame experience in a very unique way.

Halo 5 will still focus on the journey of Master Chief and the discovery of his past and future, Ross said in an interview with The Guardian. He also revealed something about the blue-visored character in the early cover art of the title. Fans theorized that the character standing opposite Master Chief was Palmer or Cortana but Josh Holmes, the executive producer, denied the hypotheses, saying that it was a new character. Halo 5: Guardians is expected to be released by fall of 2015, selling at a $75 price point.
