"Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey" will be out on the 3DS in Japan in the Fall this year. Atlus previously announced that they will be celebrating the franchise's 25th anniversary with new games for handheld consoles including the 3DS.

The "Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey" game first came out as an RPG for the Nintendo DS in 2009. Atlus says that the new version will be easier to get into for old and new fans of the game. Additionally, a new character named Alex, new artwork and ending will be added in as well.

In the translated text provided by Gematsu, "Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey" will occur in the future where humanity is set up to be doomed. A mysterious land called Schwarzwelt will be investigated by a Strike Team and players will get to know the secret behind the mysterious piece of land that threatens to overtake the world.

The translated text also says that "Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey" is a must play especially amongst veteran players of the franchise. Furthermore, there will be more than 300 demons in the "DEEPer" demon mode.

According to its official website, "Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey" will be out later this year but only in Japan. There is no word yet if the game will be released in the West or if it will have English localization.

GameSpot reports that Atlus will be releasing a new HD game for the Nintendo Switch. Atlus will reportedly make an official announcement when they get word that an English version of the "Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey" or the mysterious HD game will be released.
