During Blizzard's "Heroes of the Storm" Spring Summit this past Monday, the famous game developer company revealed several significant changes to its MOBA game, which are all included in its upcoming 2.0 update. Among the several changes are an upgraded and changed progression system, the addition of loot chests in the game, a new bevy of cosmetic items, tweaked currency system, and a new up and coming character named Cassia.

According to GameSpot, "Heroes of the Storm" will no longer have level caps after the 2.0 update. Before the update, player progression was capped at level 40, while individual heroes were capped at level 20.

Now, with the new update, the two systems will now be unified in a way that a player's level is now the sum of hero levels gained. All previous XP gained will still be carried over to the update, so those who have played beyond the progression caps will also be leveled accordingly.

Along with removing the XP cap, XP gaps between each level will also be tweaked and reduced in order to make for faster, more frequent progression. This is due to the rewards that are going to be tied to player progress.

According to PC Games N, each level gained by a player will reward them a loot chest, which is a familiar feature to those who play Overwatch. The newly implemented loot system for "HotS 2.0" will guarantee a basic loot chest, while rare and epic loot chests are awarded for players who have reached specific milestones.

But either way, a chest of a certain rarity is still guaranteed to drop at least one item of that rarity, and there is also a chance of dropping items of higher rarity. Players are also granted the option to reroll loot chests in exchange for expending Gold as well.

These are just some of the details for the upcoming "Heroes of the Storm 2.0" update. Details on the hero Cassia has still not been revealed.
