Many fans are hoping for a "Bayonetta 3" that when Sega released a countdown on their website, they believe that the third installment is on its way. However, there are reports saying that Sega is counting down for "Bayonetta" on PC and not "Bayonetta 3."

The rumors started when Sega released the 8-Bit "Bayonetta" game on Steam during April Fools' Day. Fans of the franchise who were eager for new content who downloaded it were able to discover that it provides a clue for Sega's game countdown.

Polygon reports that the April Fools' Day gag game from Sega is a mini 2D shooter that is currently free-to-play on Steam. According to the 8-Bit "Bayonetta" page, the game will not stay for long but those who have downloaded the mini game will always have it on their Steam library.

Those who finished the game are provided with a hidden URL that goes to Sega's countdown page. The countdown ends this week and many fans argued that this could be the anticipated "Bayonetta 3." However, there are fans who say that Sega may only be bringing "Bayonetta" on PC.

Metro reports that the countdown site features an old "Bayonetta" artwork. This had fans believing that the first game will be remastered and ported onto PC. Those who are curious will need to turn the brightness up on the page and they will see that art is definitely from the first game and on the collector's edition box.

All rumors about "Bayonetta" on PC or "Bayonetta 3" may only be addressed after the countdown has finished. There are no official announcements from Sega about the game. However, there is still a possibility of either two games coming true.
