Winners of the Golden Globes 2020

Hollywood Foreign Press Association celebrates excellence in film and television in its annual Golden Globes Awards. 

The Golden Globe Awards 2020 made the night shimmer with gold in Hollywood as the stars gathered together in one of the most prestigious events in the world. This year's Golden Globe was hosted yet again by Ricky Gervais for the fifth time.

In a report from MSN News, the war film 1917 ended their night with a victory as they gained the two key awards. 1917 received Best Drama Film and Sam Mends was hailed as Best Director.

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood received Best Comedy Film, Best Screenplay, and Brad Pitt was hailed as Best Supporting Actor. Meanwhile, the film Rocketman also made a headline as its star Taron Egerton was hailed as Best Actor and the picture also received Best Original Song.

Meanwhile, the TV series Chernobyl, which was nominated four times, won Best Limited Series and Stellan Skarsgard won as the Best Supporting Actor in the Limited Series categories. On the other hand, Succession also won 2 trophies. They were awarded as the Best Drama and Brian Cox was hailed as the Best Actor in a Drama while Fleabag gained the Best Comedy Award and its actress Phoebe Waller-Bridget as the Best Actress in a Comedy. 

This is also a night that Asians celebrated as Awkwafina became the first woman of Asian descent to be awarded in the Golden Globe as Best Actress in the Comedy Film. Joaquin Phoenix from Joker and Renee Zellweger from Judy won as the Best Actor and Actress in a Drama Film.
