Slim is the CEO of telecom giants Telmex and America Movil. He also owns stakes in Mexican construction, consumer goods, mining, and real estate companies and has a 17 percent share of ownership in The New York Times.

Joseph Safra has a total net worth of $25.8 billion. Safra is a descendant of a banker from Syria and he is the richest banker in the world. He owns Banco Safra in Brazil and J. Safra Sarasin in Switzerland. Safra also owns 50 percent of Chiquita Brands International.

3. Jorge Paolo Lemann from Brazil
