The Western Regional Minority Supplier Development Council, a local nonprofit organization, recently recognized minority-owned businesses in Northern California, Nevada, and Hawaii through its 2020 Excellence in Supplier Diversity Awards.

Latino and Hispanic-owned businesses in the country are growing fast compared to other groups and races, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.  

Aside from this, more companies are now hiring more people from the minorities, particularly the Latinos and Hispanics who are now the front-runner in the country's main workforce, most especially during this time of the global pandemic. 

This simply means that it is worthy to recognize businesses and groups, who continue to hire and provide more diverse people without bias and prejudice to different companies and groups. 

The largest Silicon Valley Latino-owned Technology presented the most prestigious Cornerstone Award for Outstanding Minority Supplier of the Year to the OSI Engineering, according to a published article in PR Newswire.

This was not the first time that OSI Engineering was recognized for its effort in embracing and delivering diversity in different workplaces across the country.

In fact, Cisco also nominated them for the 2020 Cornerstone Award for its involvement with the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative and Latino Business Action Network. 

Moreover, the OSI Engineering has been a long-time partner and have been committed to the Avalos Foundation that made it possible for students from the Latino and Hispanic community to get scholarships and pursue their career. 

In a statement released by the OSI Engineering CEO Javier Diaz, he said the recognition or the award is very meaningful for the service company because this is a manifestation of how they value diversity in the workplace. 

He also added that diversity is the driving force that allows businesses to flourish through innovative ideas that help them toward success.
