Candies are loved across the globe. A person who does not enjoy this simple treat does not probably have any memories of sweet childhood.

Listing all the candies in the world would be time-consuming, but here are the sweets that you probably had in this lifetime:

1. Pop Rocks Candy

Pop Rocks Candy is one of the most memorable candies there can be. Who can forget that tingling feeling, while it melts in your tongue?

Pop Rocks Candy was accidentally invented by food scientist William Mitchell in 1972. He made the discovery, while trying to make an instant soft drink.

These carbonated candies were off the market for a while due to rumors that a cereal commercial child model died while eating Pop Rocks and Coca-Cola at the same time.

Rumors were not true as child model Mikey is well and alive. Children have been eating this candy since 1975 and it's still known today. A legend, if you might say.

2. Starburst candy

Starburst is produced by the Wrigley Company. This is a subsidiary of Mars, Inc. Starburst was called "Opal Fruits" back then when it was first made in England. It only changed its name when it arrived in the United States.

True to its name you can taste the unexplainable bursting juices in your mouth while chewing it. This can be shared with friends or be used to bribe your younger brother to do his chores.

3. Gummi Bears

Behind this fun, chewable candy is an interesting story. Founder Hans Riegel saw the inspiration to create this chewy candies with his love for the dancing bears at street festivals.

He first called his invention the Dancing Bear. It was then followed by a small version named Gold Bears in 1967. The main ingredient of this creation was gum arabic. This is where the name gummy bears came from.

Finishing the four layers of gooey tamarind is just the beginning of your trip. After you taste the mixed sweet and salty flavors, the main event begins. There you will find the chili-flavored gumball.

Rockaleta is available in Original and Diablo. Some Rockaleta alternatives include chili layers and a tamarind center. Eating a whole Rockaleta lollipop might be the next dare you can do.
