Ever since the lockdown restrictions were imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic, many dedicated their time in honing newly learned skills and investing in overall personal growth.

Some have enrolled in free online courses to expand their knowledge and skillsets. Even top universities like Harvard provided a range of free online courses.

Some dedicated their time to personal fitness through home workouts that can be found all around social media, while others have tried different food trends that lit up the internet.

Many have also turned to the comfort of their kitchen, learning new recipes and preparing them for their loved ones. Surprisingly, Selena Gomez was part of those who dedicated their time in the kitchen during the implementation of lockdown.

Gomez showed off her amazing cooking talent in her newly filmed HBO Max Series "Selena + Chef." On Wednesday, the HBO Max released the first trailer for "Selena + Chef" and announced that it would be launched on the streaming service on August 13. The 10-episode series was filmed remotely because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The "Spring Breakers," who has been quarantining with friends and family, shared the details in filming the "Selena + Chef" series, adding that shooting the series remote in her new home was "strange."

Gomez said there was no one in her house, but there are cameras everywhere."That's so crazy it comes out so well. It comes out like a normal cooking show but also very odd because everyone is outside everywhere," Gomez said in a Deadline report.

Several chefs from the culinary world appeared on the "Selena + Chef" shop. One of these is Antonia Lofaso, who shared some tips for viewers who are spending more time in the kitchen, preparing their meals. Lofaso said you need to cook every day, adding that the more you cook, the better you will be.

Gomez said she saw the show as an opportunity to make something that could make people smile. "I hope you're gonna laugh because I look like a fool," she said in a CNN report

Birthday Presents From Famous Chefs

The "Selena + Chef" host also received a basket of goodies from the chef for her 28th birthday. The basket contains presents of chocolate cake, pasta, wines, cupcakes, and tomato sauce. Also included in the basket of goods were cookbooks written by celebrity chefs such as Nancy Silverton and Ludo Lefebvre.

"Thank you so much to HBO Max and to all of the incredible chefs for your gifts on my birthday," Gomez said in a U.S. Magazine report.

The "Selena + Chef" star also said she's thankful and cannot wait to continue making great meals.

Meanwhile, executive producer of "Selena + Chef" Aaron Saidman said the show was filmed remotely and had different chef's help through video chats.

"There was something... special about the fact that Selena was still kind of on her own, having to fumble her way through and figure things out, even though she had an expert professional helping her out," Saidman said in a CNN report
