"Birdman," an upcoming comedy film, is set to be released on Oct. 17, 2014. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, this movie will have actor Michael Keaton playing the title role. The other cast members participating in the movie will include: Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, Andrea Riseborough, and Amy Ryan.

"Birdman" is about an actor famous for portraying an iconic superhero who puts a lot of effort into his Broadway play, an adaptation of "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love" written by Raymond Carver.

Birdman ultimately has to fight his self pride and try to win his family back, his career, and most of all his confidence a few days before the opening night of the play.

Although the movie was started back in March 2013 in New York City, it wasn't until April when Emma Stone shot her scenes. She plays Birdman's daughter. Benjamin Kanes is the other actor playing Birdman together with Keaton.

Many speculated that "Birdman" would compete in the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival; González Iñárritu had three films that premiered during the Cannes Film Festival. However, Fox Searchlight decided not to join the film festival. The movie will be premiered either in Toronto or Telluride. Just by watching the trailer, you can conclude that the movie is inspiring with equally superb directing.

Lead actor Keaton, whose real name is Michael John Douglas, was born in Corapolis, Pennsylvannia on Sept. 15, 1951. He dropped out of Kent State after studying speech for two years and transferred to Pittsburgh. He worked as a stand-up comedian but was unsuccessful. He then changed his route to being a cable station TV cameraman and that gave him the idea that he did not want to work behind the cameras but in front of them. Keaton is most well-known for his role as the comic book hero "Batman" in the 1989 Tim Burton film.
