Well, here we are again. The United States will face Ghana for the third consecutive World Cup.

In 2006, the two nations were paired together in Group E. Ghana defeated America 2-1 and prevented the team from making the round of 16. Four years later, the two were not placed in the same group, but both qualified for the round of 16. Sure enough, the two would meet each other in the first round and Ghana won 2-1 in overtime, eliminating Team USA.

Many people think this year will be different. So let's preview this Group G match-up.

USA

America is ranked No. 13 in the world and there's no secret who the head coach is: Jurgen Klinsmann. Klinsmann has made a few questionable decisions so far, but he has stressed speed and youth. A lot of pressure will be on goalkeeper Tim Howard because of the inexperienced defense. Klinsmann made a good decision to go with eight midfielders and just four forwards. It's unlikely this team will score the most goals or have an explosive offense, but it will stress defense throughout the games.

Obviously, Clint Dempsey is the big name to watch. This will be his third World Cup tournament and he's seeking his first victory against Ghana. Helping Dempsey on the offensive side is 24-year-old Jozy Altidore. It will be really different to see this team without Landon Donovan on the field.

Ghana

Ghana is ranked No. 37 in the world, but they know they have a psychological edge over the Americans, having knocked them out the last two World Cups. Their head coach is James Kwesi Appiah. Ghana has never been a powerhouse at the World Cup, but they have shown improvements in recent Cups. As a matter of fact, half of Ghana's World Cup wins are against (you guessed it) Team USA.

Ghana's squad is very similar to America's. They have chosen to go very deep in the middle of the field and have just three starting forwards. Asamoah Gyan is the team's captain and will be leading the offense. This will be his third World Cup. Ghana's weakness is with their goalkeeping and experience. Adam Kwarasey has never played in a World Cup and many questions still remain. This should be a close low scoring affair between the teams.

Where and when?

This game will be played at the Arenas Da Dunas in Natal, Brazil and will hold nearly 40,000 people. Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. EST on ESPN. The head referee for this game will be Swedish judge Jonas Eriksson.
