According to rumors, the next season of "Dancing With the Stars" could feaure a U.S. soccer player.

Hollywood Life reported this week that LA Galaxy Player Landon Donovan is "at the top" of the ABC show's "wish list."

"They have wanted Landon forever for the show," an "insider" told the tabloid website. "Now that everyone is having World Cup fever and Landon was left off the team ... they want him to win another trophy: the Mirror Ball trophy."

Donovan did not make the FIFA World Cup roster this year, but the 32-year-old winger is considered one of the greatest U.S. soccer players ever and is a four-time U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year award winner amongst other impressive feats.

The website claimed, if "Dancing With the Stars" cannot book Donovan, they will go after another "soccer hunk."

"They are putting the full court press on getting him this time and will also reach out to anyone from the U.S. team that makes a name for themselves in the next month," the source said. "They are very interested in making it finally happen. What better time than now?"

Season 19 of "Dancing With the Stars" is scheduled to debut this fall.

Some sources have claimed that Erin Andrews, who replaced Brooke Burke-Charvet as co-host in season 18, will not return. GossipCop cited In Touch magazine early this month, claiming that "Dancing With the Stars" is "wooing" Maria Menounos, host of "Extra" and a season 14 "Dancing With the Stars" competitor (she and partner Derek Hough placed fourth).

"They really want her to co-host the show," an In Touch source reportedly said. "Erin was a total diva and didn't get along with anyone. No one liked her."

In May, however, GossipCop reported that a "network spokesperson" said there are no plans to replace Andrews, and neither ABC nor Andrews has confirmed the "report."
