The latest "Dancing With the Stars" professional dancer winner Maksim Chmerkovskiy apparently does not have a new romantic relationship with Jennifer Lopez, despite rumors.

Although gossipers have previously speculated that Chmerkovskiy is dating his co-champion Meryl Davis, reports surfaced last week that Chmerkovskiy is dating the Latina superstar. New York Daily News sources said that Lopez, 44, became interested in Chmerkovskiy, 34, after he lifted her above his head during the 2013 American Music Awards, and Life & Style said that the two were "inseparable" recently at Los Angeles' Redbury Hotel.

Lopez has taken to Twitter, however, to shut down these reports.

"@Qburgh No I'm not. #rumors #nottrue #AKAinstoresJune17 :)," she said via Twitter on Thursday after Pittsburgh radio station Qburgh tweeted the rumor.

Qburgh pointed out that Lopez only recently broke up with previous boyfriend Casper Smart, prompting a fan to ask Lopez if her previous tweet was disclaiming the break-up report or the Chmerkovskiy rumors.

"@MySimple_Life No I'm not. (dating anyone new already.)," Lopez said.

An E! Online source also denied the reports this week, saying the two are just "friends" but are close because of Leah Remini, a former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant reportedly still close with former partner, Tony Dovolani, and Lopez's good friend. An Us Weekly source, who the tabloid said wants to see Chmerkovskiy and Lopez date, seconded the claim.

"Leah and Jennifer are best friends," the E! Online source said. "So as a group, they're all very friendly. ... Who knows what could happen down the road?

"Leah is trying to play matchmaker with Maks and Jennifer," the Us Weekly source said. "She's really egging it on and encouraging it."

Chmerkovskiy has yet to comment on the rumors.

"I don't comment on Maks' personal life," Chmerkovskiy's "irriated" rep told NY Daily News earlier.
