Former Lakers player Lamar Odom wants to take his ex-wife Khloe Kardashian out for lunch years after their divorce.

Lamar made his comments during an interview with E! News after he was evicted from the "Celebrity Big Brother" house.

"First, I would ask her [Khloe] how's she doing, how her child is doing and maybe ask her for lunch, just to be cordial," Lamar said, adding that being around the reality star would be considered a "blessing" for him.

Although Lamar wanted to reconnect with the Good American founder, the former NBA athlete noted that he is not trying to get any response from Khloe.

Lamar noted that he realized people "change" and accepted the fact that he "might not be able" to be Khloe's friend. He also opened up about why he talked so much about Khloe while he was still inside the Celebrity Big Brother house, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Lamar explained that he was only trying to be "honest and transparent" about their relationship.

"Maybe it might help somebody else who has a position of power because of who they're married to, what they retained on their own, maybe help make their own right decision," he noted.

Lamar Odom Admits Missing His Ex-Wife Khloe Kardashian

Lamar Odom's revelation on wanting to bring Khloe Kardashian out for lunch came after he made a cheesy statement for his ex-wife.

On Monday, Celebrity Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves asked Lamar if he had any message for Khloe if she was watching the CBS reality show, The Daily Mail reported.

Lamar, who was married to the reality star from 2009 to 2016, replied: "I miss you and I hope to get to see you soon." The former NBA player made his feelings for the "Keeping up with the Kardashians" star clear throughout season 3 of Celebrity Big Brother.

"I had a beautiful wife. We were together every day until we got married... I never thought about getting married again. I didn't treat that good woman right," Lamar said during the February 14 episode.

During a double-elimination episode of Celebrity Big Brother on Monday night, Lamar was eliminated along with Todd Bridges.

Lamar Odom Says 'It's Refreshing' That Fans Want Him and Khloe Kardashian Back Together

In an interview with Us Weekly on Tuesday, Lamar Odom said it feels nice that fans were rooting for him and Khloe Kardashian to get back together.

"Actually, it's really nice to hear [the support]. It's refreshing. When you marry someone in 30 days, they'll always be connected to you somehow, someway," Lamar noted, adding that the reality star will always have a "special place" in his heart.

Lamar also said he's ready to reach out to Khloe now that he was out of the Big Brother house.

"Yeah, I will. She's just somebody I will always wish the best for. And hopefully I get to see her soon," Lamar told Us.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom married each other in 2009 after knowing each other for about a month. They then announced their split in 2013 after four years of being together.

The reality star filed for divorce in 2013 but withdrew her decision in 2015 after Lamar suffered a near-fatal overdose. The Good American founder then officially divorced Lamar in 2016.

In June, Khloe told Andy Cohen that she was no longer in touch with Lamar Odom. However, the reality star wished him "nothing but the best and good health."

Khloe is currently single. She recently split from cheating Tristan Thompson, who secretly fathered a baby with personal trainer Maralee Nichols last year. The former couple share daughter True.
