Former President Donald Trump has mocked Joe Biden after the president and other senior U.S. officials received sanctions from Russia.

In a statement released by his spokesperson Liz Harrington on Twitter Tuesday, Trump accused Biden of conflict of interest and being "slow on the draw" with Russia, Independent reported.

"Breaking News: Russia just sanctioned Joe Biden. While that is a terrible thing, in so many ways, perhaps it will now be explained why the Biden family received 3.5 million dollars from the very wealthy former Mayor of Moscow's wife," Trump noted.

During their presidential debate aired on Fox News Channel in 2020, the former president said then "moderator" Chris Wallace would not let him ask that question.

Trump noted that "it was inappropriate" and continued to say that it was probably the reason "why Biden has been so 'slow on the draw' with Russia."

"This is a really bad conflict of interest that will, perhaps now, be fully and finally revealed!" the former president said.

Donald Trump on Russian President Vladimir Putin's Ukraine Invasion

Donald Trump on Tuesday said he was "surprised" when Russia's President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine. In an interview with The Washington Examiner, the former president noted that he thought Putin was negotiating when he sent the Russian troops to the border of Ukraine.

"I'm surprised. I thought he was negotiating... I thought it was a tough way to negotiate but a smart way to negotiate," Trump said.

Trump's remarks came after he earlier praised Putin's justification for invading Ukraine as "savvy" and "genius," Business Insider reported that Putin sent around 150,000 troops on Ukraine's border.

Trump noted that he thought Putin would make a good deal "like everybody else does with the United States and the other people they tend to deal with."

"You know, like every trade deal. We've never made a good trade deal until I came along. And then he [Putin] went in, and I think he's changed... It's a very sad thing for the world. He's very much changed," Trump said.

During the interview, the former president insisted that he has been "very, very tough on Putin," while getting along with the Russian leader "very well."

Trump then repeated his claim that Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if he had been president. However, some former Trump administration officials have said that his actions and statements in many ways emboldened Putin and paved the way for him to invade Ukraine.

Donald Trump Would Like to Talk to Russia's President Vladimir Putin to Prevent World War III

In a rally held in South Carolina over the weekend, Donald Trump said he was willing to hold talks with the Russian president to "calm down the situation."

The former president said he could try talking with Vladimir Putin to prevent him from starting a conflict between countries and a possible World War III, Mundo Hispanico reported. Trump believed that he could prevent a third World War.

Trump insisted that "there would be no war if he were in charge of the country" as he was always tough with Russia and never allowed the U.S. to be threatened by conflicts between other nations. He noted that Putin would have never given the order to invade Ukraine if he were in the White House.

The former president also said that he believes that the war will not end until the Russian president occupies Ukraine, adding that there is no way that Putin will not "win" or leave the European country alone and more.

Donald Trump further noted that it would not be long before the "third World War begins," adding that he "sees" it in the action of the Russian president.
