Karol G, Christian Nodal, and Bad Bunny were the biggest winners at Thursday night's Latin American Music Awards 2022.

According to UPI, Karol G bagged a total of six awards. The Colombian pop star took home the Artist of the Year award and Favorite Artist - Female. The "Tusa" singer went neck-to-neck with Bad Bunny, Camilo, Farruko, J Balvin, Jhay Cortez, and Eslabon Armado for the Artist of the Year award.

On the other hand, she competed with Kali Uchis, Natti Natasha, Rosalia, and Selena Gomez for the Favorite Artist in the Female category.

Karol G also won the Album of the Year and Favorite Album - Urban for her record "KG0516." She also took home the Favorite Artist - Urban award. Bad Bunny, Maluma, Rauw Alejandro, Anuel AA, J Balvin, and Jhay Cortez were also nominated for the said category.

Karol G and Mariah Angeliq bagged the Collaboration of the Year award for the song "El Makinon."

Mexican artist Christian Nodal was honored with the Extraordinary Evolution award. It was reportedly given to a "young performer who has demonstrated change and accelerated growth as an artist, to reach the pinnacle of success in a short period of time."

According to Infobae, the other Latin artists who also received the same award were Maluma in 2018, Becky G in 2019, and Ozuna in 2021.

Nodal also won the Favorite Solo Artist (regional Mexican) award, Favorite Album (regional Mexican) for his record "Ahora," and Favorite Song (regional Mexican) for the song "Botella Tras Botella," which he made with Gera MX.

Bad Bunny was also among the Latin artists who dominated the Latin American Music Awards 2022. According to UPI, Bad Bunny took home five awards, including Favorite Artist - Male, Viral Song of the Year for "AM" with Nio Garcia and J Balvin, and Song of the Year for his collaboration with Jhay Cortez on "Dakiti."

The Puerto Rican rapper was nominated in at least 10 categories. Other big winners in the Latin American Music Awards 2022 include Aventura for Favorite Duo or Group, Selena Gomez for Favorite Artist (pop), and The Weeknd, who was picked as Favorite Crossover Artist.

Meanwhile, the Tour of the Year award went to Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin.

Latin American Music Awards 2022 Highlights: Performances in the Awards Show

The performances of different artists also provided excitement to the Latin American Music Awards 2022. Several artists like Reik, Luis Fonsi, CNCO, and Gloria Trevi rocked the stage with their performances.

Lupita D'Alessio, also known as La Leona Dormida, also performed a medley from her decade-spanning catalog. Christian Nodal also performed a medley of his songs, including "Adios Amor," "Probablemente," and "Ya No Somos Ni Seremos."

Black Eyed Peas Graced the Stage of Latin American Music Awards 2022 With a Tribute to Ukraine

Another highlight of the Latin American Music Awards 2022 was when Black Eyed Peas kicked off the stage with several Latin American artists to perform "Where is the Love?"

More than 20 Latin artist reunited for this special tribute to Ukraine. According to Today, Ukrainian pop and R&B singer NK (Nastya Kamenskykh) started the song in Spanish alongside Ozuna.

Artists like CNCO, Prince Royce, Sofia Reyes, Farruko, Chiquis, and many others surrounded the Black Eyed Peas as they belted out a Spanglish version of the song. Everyone wore white for the performance, with NK holding the Ukraine flag.

The Latin American Music Awards 2022 was held at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. It was hosted by Rafael Amaya, Jacqueline Bracamontes and Cristian de la Fuenta.
