Cleveland Cavaliers star Rajon Rondo has been accused of pulling a gun on his former partner and threatening her life. After the incident, his ex-partner was granted an emergency protective order (EPO) against him.

The woman reported the incident and filed the order last Friday, saying she was "extremely fearful for my safety and for the safety of my children."

According to People, the woman said Rondo has a history of "volatile, erratic, explosive behavior." Bleacher Report reported that the woman is Ashley Bachelor, Rondo's former partner and the mother of his two children.

Bachelor noted that Rondo was "verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive" and recounted incidents wherein the Cleveland Cavaliers player called their son names and hit the child. She said Rondo also assaulted their daughter and called her names, and issued several threats to her life.

In the EPO, Bachelor wrote that Rondo told her, "You're dead," before the NBA star allegedly left the house briefly and came back with a gun.

She also stated that Rondo yelled at both children outside of the home while holding a gun, asking why they were scared of him.

Cleveland Cavaliers Guard Rajon Rondo and Former Partner Violent Incident

A judge in Louisville, Kentucky granted Ashley Bachelor's request for the EPO on May 13, ordering Rajon Rondo not to communicate with her and stay at least 500 feet away from the family.

Bachelor was also awarded temporary custody of the two children, while Rondo was also directed to turn in his firearms temporarily to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Bachelor said the alleged violent outburst by Rondo happened on May 11, when the NBA star was playing video games with his son.

She said she asked her son to help with the laundry. Rondo then became incensed and ripped the console out of the wall and trashed the room, according to Basketball Forever.

Bachelor noted that she tried to de-escalate the situation, which resulted in Rondo telling her, "You're dead." Rondo then temporarily left home and returned about 15 minutes later when he allegedly approached a back door and started banging on the window with his gun.

Bachelor said she saw Rondo with the firearm and asked him to stop because he was scaring her, but the NBA star demanded to see his son.

She noted that their son went downstairs, opened the door, and Rondo "yanked him outside." He also demanded to see her daughter, and eventually, he was yelling at both children for being afraid of him.

Bachelor said she did not intervene as she was afraid for her life with Rondo having a gun. The NBA star eventually left the house after his parents arrived.

NBA on Cleveland Cavaliers Rajon Rondo

NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said the association was aware of the report and was in the process of gathering more information. According to ESPN, Rajon Rondo's representatives have yet to comment on the matter.

Ashley Bachelor has called former interim Louisville Metro Police Chief Yvette Gentry, and he reportedly arrived at the home. While she locked herself in the house with the kids, Gentry told her that he had obtained Rondo's gun before the NBA star left.

Bachelor reportedly had Rondo's gun. According to TMZ, the Cleveland Cavaliers player has not been arrested and named a suspect in any criminal report connected to what happened at this time.

It is still unclear if the NBA's investigation would result in any discipline from the league. Rondo just ended his 16th NBA season.

Rajon Rondo was a four-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion, having played 18 games for the Los Angeles Lakers before leaving for Cleveland Cavaliers. Rondo averaged 6.2 points and 4.9 assists in 21 games for the Cavs.
