Aside from Gladney, a 26-year-old female passenger was also killed due to the Dallas car crash.

Dallas Car Crash

CNN News stated that the car crash took place around 2:30 a.m. and involved two vehicles, according to a news release from the Dallas County Sheriff's Department.

An initial investigation revealed that a white vehicle was speeding and clipped a second vehicle from behind. The white vehicle lost control and hit a freeway pier beam, which killed the man and woman inside.

Meanwhile, the second vehicle was also occupied by a man and woman, who were not injured.

The Minnesota Vikings also released a statement in light of Gladney's death, offering condolences to the cornerback's friends and family.

Free-agent safety George Iloka said that he had the privilege of playing with him during his rookie year in Minnesota, saying that Gladney was one of the most respectful and intentional rookies he has been around so far.

Gladney seemed to be gaining momentum in getting his NFL career back on track after sitting out the 2021 season.

The Minnesota Viking cut him after he was charged with felony assault, according to a Star-Telegram News report. He was then found not guilty of the charge in March and signed with the Cardinals right after.

Gladney was also known to have joined TCU as a three-star prospect out of New Boston in 2015. He finished his college career with 43 passes defended, five interceptions, and six tackles for loss.

TCU athletic director Jeremiah Donati also released a statement with the news of Gladney's passing, saying that the TCU Athletics family was "very devastated to learn" of his passing.

Donati added that Gladney maintained his close ties to TCU and that the Cardinals' cornerback loved everything about his alma mater.

Gladney was said to be a frequent visitor to campus and was at TCU's spring practices and spring game this year.

Gladney was selected by the Vikings in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He then played in all 16 games for the Vikings in 2020, which includes 15 starts.

During his Viking stint, Gladney had 18 tackles including seven tackles for loss, with three passes defended, and one forced fumble.
