Labeled as one of Mexico's most dangerous drug cartels, the Jalisco cartel recently released a video where they beheaded three individuals from a rival gang.

According to Daily Star, the Jalisco cartel hitmen's killing style in the video reminisces how the infamous Islamic State also beheaded its victims.

The drug cartel seemed to mimic ISIS and Taliban propaganda videos. However, the practice itself is not new. Borderland Beat reported that the victims were members of the rival Pájaros Sierra gang.

In the video, the three Pájaros Sierra members can be seen kneeling down before the Jalisco cartel members. One of the Jalisco cartel members said this would be the fate of every Pájaros Sierra member and vowed that they would come after them.

They then proceeded to behead each of the three men. The first victim to be beheaded can be heard groaning in pain as his head is being removed by a Jalisco cartel hitman holding a seven-inch knife in his hand.

Jalisco Cartel Leader 'El Mencho' Urged Rival Mexican Drug Cartels to Stop Targeting Priests

The video surfaced just days after a man who identified himself as Jalisco cartel leader Nemesio "El Mencho" Oseguera Cervantes made a plea to rival gangs to avoid killing innocent people.

In another video, El Mencho asked rival Mexican drug cartels to stop targeting priests, doctors, nurses, and teachers. The Jalisco cartel boss invited rival gangs to attack his group instead of going after priests and civilians.

El Mencho said they must make the war between themselves and not interfere with those they should not interfere with. He appeared in the video wearing a mask while also surrounded by 15 of his men, who were all brandishing military-grade weaponry.

His plea to "stop the violence" against civilians came after the high-profile killings of two Jesuit priests in Chihuahua state. The two priests were violently killed when they tried to help a man who sought refuge inside their church.

Several gunmen appeared and killed the man and the two priests. The UN said the priests were doing important humanitarian work in the area and condemned the killings.

In the video, El Mencho said he believes that priests deserve special respect as they have been helping those who need it. The Jalisco cartel boss also stressed not to interfere with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers.

It is still not verified if it is indeed El Mencho who was speaking in the video. However, according to Daily Mail, many believe it was really him.

El Mencho and the Jalisco Cartel of Mexico

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel or Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG) has an estimated 5,000 members, with operations not just around Mexico but internationally as well. The CJNG is known for making mass graves, kidnappings, acid baths, and video recording beheadings.

The Jalisco cartel had risen to power after former Sinaloa Cartel capo Ignacio Coronel, known as "Nacho," was killed in July 2010 by Mexican security forces.

Nacho's death resulted in the split of the Sinaloa Cartel into two factions - "La Resistencia" and "Torcidos." The "Torcidos" became what is now the Jalisco cartel, which has since expanded rapidly in Mexico.

El Mencho, who currently heads the Jalisco cartel, continues to evade capture, and the U.S. government offered a $10 million reward for information leading to his arrest. He remains to be the most elusive criminal, and he is reportedly hiding in Mexico.
