A video of Democratic New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went viral online on Tuesday after she pretended to be handcuffed as she was arrested by a police officer during the abortion rights protests outside the Supreme Court.

According to Newsweek, AOC was detained for blocking traffic during the demonstrations.

A video uploaded by "Daily Signal" News Producer Douglass on Twitter showed AOC being escorted by a police officer, along with another protester at the site of the demonstrations.

The New York representative placed both her hands behind her back, appearing as if she was handcuffed by the police officer. Demonstrators shouted as she was escorted by the police, with one protester being heard shouting: "the abortion rights are under attack."

At the end of the video, Ocasio-Cortex was seen raising her right hand in defiance of the police who escorted her out of the abortion rights protest.

The said video uploaded by Douglass on social media gathered at least 4.4 million views, over 11 thousand likes, and 2,269 retweets as of this writing.

Businessman Jason Howerton also hopped in to criticize the New York Representative for what she did during her arrest.

Roe v. Wade Overturned: Other Officials Arrested on Abortion Rights Protest

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was not the only one arrested during Tuesday's abortion rights protests outside the Supreme Court. The Capitol Police confirmed that they made 35 arrests as of Tuesday, per Washington Examiner. Seventeen of those arrested were from Congress, with violations against crowding, obstructing, or incommoding.

Among the Congress members who were arrested were Barbara Lee of California, Ayana Pressley of Massachusetts, Andy Levin of Michigan, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Cori Bush of Missouri.

California Representative Jacki Speier, who was also arrested, took to Twitter to express how she felt after participating in the protest.

Speier noted that she was proud to march and get arrested for the rights of women, rights to abortion, and rights to control one's body.

The arrests on Tuesday took place as a demonstration outside Supreme Court occurred over frustrations when the 1973 case Roe v. Wade, which established the right to abortion, was overturned.
