Ivana Trump was born in Gottwaldov, Czechoslovakia, and witnessed the beginning of the Soviet Union-led invasion of Czechoslovakia.

Ivana made her way to the United States through her marriage to Austrian ski instructor Alfred Winklmayr in 1971, allowing her to obtain Austrian citizenship and was allowed to leave Communist Czechoslovakia without defecting.

In 1973, the two separated, and Ivana decided to move to Canada, with her first profession coaching ski racers in Montreal, Canada, according to Biography.

She then met her former husband, Donald Trump, during a trip to New York, where she was working as a model to promote the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.

The two then got married in 1977 and divorced in 1992. However, Ivana kept Donald's surname. Ivana shared three children with Trump: Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.

Ivana Trump was reported to have a net worth of $100 million at the time of her death, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Donald reportedly did not speak at the service and arrived separately with security personnel. Donald Jr. described her mother as "fearless and independent."

Ivanka said her mother did not tell her a woman could do anything she wanted to, but instead, her mother showed it to her. The former first lady, Melania Trump, was also present at the funeral.
