Meghan Markle has revealed in her The Cut cover interview that the British media calls her children, Archie and Lilibet, the "N-word."

Page Six reported that the Duchess of Sussex "hated" sharing family photos with the same British media outlets whose readers have called her children the "N-word."

When she was an active royal family member, Markle was expected to provide pictures of Archie to the Royal Rota. The British media is the press pool that covers Queen Elizabeth II and her line of succession.

Markle then asked why she would give "the very people" calling her children the "N-word' a photo of her child before she could share it with the people who love her child.

She added that she and Prince Harry had no control over the Instagram account @KensingtonRoyal, which they shared with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Markle and the Duke of Sussex posted the photos without first giving them to the Royal Rota.

They shut down their account when they decided to step back from their royal roles, officially quitting in February 2021.

British Media Calling Sussex Couple's Children 'N-Word'

According to Radar Online, the royal family is "desperately trying to do damage control" over Meghan Markle's latest interview.

The royal family reportedly did not receive any heads-up about Markle's interview with The Cut, wherein she claimed that the British media called her children the "N-word."

Royal spies claimed that the family was "shocked" and "upset" over her new claims, sparking emergency meetings at Balmoral.

Prince Harry's brother, Prince William, and their father, Prince Charles, were in discussion over the next steps. William reportedly wanted to respond to Markle's accusations, while Charles wanted to keep quiet.

The royal family was preparing for Harry's book, but they did not expect Markle to start her own "tell-all" interview.

Meghan Markle The Cut Interview

Royal reporter Richard Palmer tweeted about Meghan Markle's The Cut interview for her cover story. He noted that "tone-deaf Prince Harry and Meghan have learned no lessons," according to Page Six.

Today host Karl Stefanovic mocked Markle after she compared herself to Mandela in the same interview with The Cut published on Monday.

He noted that it was hard to see "how that would sit" with the royal family," especially the Mandela comparison.

Stefanovic said: "That one, I feel, is tone-deaf," Daily Mail reported. Stefanovic later joked that Markle was "probably a little misunderstood."

In The Cut interview, the Duchess of Sussex claimed that she was told by a cast member of the "Lion King" in 2019 that South Africans "danced in the street" when she married Harry, like what they did when "Mandela was freed from prison."

Markle also claimed that she and the Duke of Sussex were "happy" to leave the U.K. and were "upsetting the dynamic of the hierarchy" simply by existing before they stepped down as royal members.

The Cut interview was released after it was reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would not see the Queen at Balmoral during their U.K. visit next week.

Markle also recently released her Spotify podcast, where she complained about how she had to continue engagements on a royal tour in South Africa after a fire in her son's bedroom.
