King Charles III is reportedly planning to strip away royal titles from Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie after their father, Prince Andrew, had faced a lawsuit for sexual harassment.

Prince Andrew had a controversial relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including allegations of sexual assault. The scandal had cost him his military affiliations and royal patronages, which were removed in January 2022.

A royal expert believed that King Charles III may continue removing any trace of the affiliation to the dynasty after Andrew "embarrassed" the family with his actions, according to a Fox News report.

Royal expert Hilary Fordwich said Eugenie and Beatrice's father's action had an "adverse and actually disastrous impact on their royal futures."

Fordwich added that the two are most likely to become Lady Beatrice and Lady Eugenie due to Andrew's sexual assault scandal, which had slimmed their chances of becoming working royals.

The royal expert said that retaining Beatrice and Eugenie's titles is "highly dubious" with the decision being made with the new reign of their uncle.

Fordwich said that King Charles is seen to be making the use of the title "more restrictive."

King Charles on Royal Titles

Royal expert Marlene Koeing confirmed that there would be a change, which includes downgrading Beatrice and Eugenie to the style of daughters of a duke.

Koeing added that the same thing was done in the 1917 Letters Patent for the grandchildren in the male line, as reported by MARCA News.

The royal expert explained that it was why the present Duke of Gloucester and the present Duke of Kent are the last to have the HRH and Prince, as their children are not royal.

Beatrice is the Duke of York's eldest daughter, and Princess Eugenie is the youngest.

Queen Elizabeth II changed the rules during her reign so that Prince William's children would be called Prince/Princess.

Cosmopolitan noted that the referred "Letters Patent" states that Prince/Princess titles can only be applied to the children of the monarch, the children of the monarch's sons, and the Prince of Wales's oldest son's oldest son.

Under this ruling, it would mean that Prince Harry's children, Archie and Lilibet, are now eligible to be Prince/Princess.

Prince Andrew's Titles Removed

Andrew is the late queen's third child, with elder siblings Charles and Princess Anne, who is Princess Royal. He shares two daughters with his former wife, Sarah, Duchess of York.

Due to the sexual harassment case filed against him, a royal source noted in a February BBC News report said that Andrew will no longer be called His Royal Highness.

The Duke of York had a 22-year of experience in the Royal Navy and had served as a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War in 1982.

His military titles were also suspended when he stepped back from public duties in 2019.

Andrew lost other military titles recently, including Colonel of Grenadier Guards, Honorary air commodore of RAF Lossiemouth, and royal colonel of the Royal Highland Fusiliers, among others.
