Prince Harry has reportedly rejected a potential truce meeting with his borther Prince William due to fears that the press would find out about it, according to a new book.

Page Six reported that William allegedly messaged Harry to ask if they could meet after the Duke of Sussex gave an interview with his wife Meghan Markle while on tour in South Africa.

Harry was initially in favor of the meeting. However, he reportedly became hesitant when his older brother told him that his private secretary would be aware of the face-to-face conversation due to conflicting schedules.

Royal expert Valentine Low wrote in the book "Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown" that Harry was so worried that William's team would leak the meeting to the press. He then told William to cancel the meeting.

During a 2019 interview with ITV's Tom Bradby recorded during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's trip to Africa, Harry admitted that he and his brother were "certainly on different paths at the moment." However, Harry noted that he will always be there for his brother, as he knows his brother will always be there for him.

Low also reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton's team felt that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were trying to overshadow their tour of Pakistan at the time. Their tour coincides with Harry and Markle's ITV documentary release.

Prince Harry's Dilemma

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe claimed that Prince Harry appears to have everything he could have ever wanted on the surface but still looks like "he is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders," according to Yahoo News.

Larcombe further noted that the Duke of Sussex looks "desperately unhappy." The royal expert was known to have authored the 2017 biography of Harry entitled "Prince Harry: The Inside Story."

The book recounts the duke's time at Eton's elite boarding school, his military career, and his love life. Larcombe said that children had dreamt of being a prince one day, but "Harry, his whole life, has dreamed of one day being normal."

Larcombe added that Harry "sacrificed absolutely everything and gained very, very little in return." Prince Harry opened up in 2021 about his struggles with media scrutiny and being a royal wanting a normal life.

Prince Harry Quitting the Royal Life

Prince Harry said he wanted to leave the royal duty due to the effect of that kind of life on his late mother, Princes Diana. According to People, Harry said that "suddenly there was like a bubble that burst" after starting therapy.

He went on to say he wanted to "break" the cycle of "genetic pain and suffering." The Duke of Sussex noted that he does not think they should be blaming anyone. However, he said if he had experienced some form of pain or suffering, it was probably because his parents had suffered.
