A boarding house tenant in Chicago, Illinois, had murdered her landlord two days after receiving an eviction notice. Police said Sandra Kolalou, 36, was charged with first-degree murder Wednesday for killing her Chicago landlord, Frances Walker, 69, a pianist at the Evanston School of Ballet.

According to Block Club Chicago, Brendan Deenihan, the chief of detectives, confirmed Walker's death on Monday. Deenihan said in a press conference that Walker had given Kolalou notice to depart "as recently as Saturday."

Police said Kolalou murdered Walker, dismembered her before putting her in a freezer, and then attempted to dispose of the evidence at Rogers Park beach.

Authorities noted that Kolalou also used a knife on a tow truck driver she had called to transport her to the beach. Police said Kolalou was charged with aggravated assault for what she did to the driver. Deenihan said officers discovered Walker's remains in a freezer around the same time Kolalou was still with the tow truck driver.

"They [police] were able to find some additional blood inside the tenant's [Kolalou] room, at which point they discovered the gruesome remains in a freezer," Deenihan noted.

Illinois: Tenants Received Bizzare Text From Chicago Landlord's Phone

Brandon Deenihan said police were able to arrest Sandra Kolalou after the victim's other tenants in the West Ridge boarding house called the police and followed the suspect as she tried to hide evidence.

During the hearing Thursday, prosecutors said Frances Walker and Kolalou exchanged loud bangs and screams after getting the notice, NBC Chicago reported.

"Other tenants heard loud bangs and the victim and the defendant arguing on the first floor," said Assistant State's Attorney Anne McCord Rodgers.

She also said a tenant from the basement heard the landlord screaming and a dish breaking. Tenants also claimed to have heard "scratching noises" in the home's common space on the first level in the following hours.

According to prosecutors, some tenants also got bizarre text messages from the Chicago landlord's phone. They noted that the texts said Kolalou would take care of Walker's dog and that anyone moving out in the future should give Kolalou the keys.

"Given the issues between the offender and the [victim], coupled with the eviction notice, the tenants found these texts extremely unusual," a proffer read in court noted.

Tenants reportedly called the police after the altercations, bizarre text messages, and bloody rags in a garbage can they found at the beach after following the tow truck driver hired by Kolalou. The police later found Walker's phone in Kolalou's room.

No Bail for Sandra Kolalou After Murdering and Dismembering the Chicago Landlord in Illinois

Sandra Kolalou was ordered to be held without bail. Aside from murder, she was also charged with one count of concealing a homicidal death, and one misdemeanor count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers reportedly found blood on the victim and the suspect's room on the first floor, two knives, and Walker's dismembered body parts in the freezer when they searched the house.

The prosecution said investigators found a severed head, severed arms, and severed legs inside the freezer. The victim's torso has not been found yet.

"They eventually discovered human remains in a freezer, at which point we backed out of the residence to secure a search warrant to go back in and retrieve all evidence properly," Deenihan noted.

Deenihan said the Chicago landlord was believed to have been killed in her bedroom and dismembered on the house's first floor, ABC7 reported.

Walker's husband is overseas but told ABC7 that she was the best human being he knew. Meanwhile, Sandra Kolalou pleaded not guilty. She is expected to appear in court again on October 31.
