The American for-profit crowdfunding platform GoFundMe has published the annual donations report for 2022.

According to Fox News, the crowdfunding platform listed various statistics, which include this year's most generous states and cities.

New Hampshire, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Delaware, Maine, Virginia, West Virginia, Montana, and South Carolina, are the most charitable states per capita, as determined by the platform.

According to the site's data, in 2022, a total of $25 billion were donated to various charities and nonprofits by 28 million people.

"Our community helped provide the essentials during record-high inflation, advanced educational dreams, and supported people whose lives were uprooted by natural disasters, war, and loss," the company stated in its report.

Some of the Most Generous Cities Came From Texas and Florida

GoFundMe also ranked the most charitable municipalities. Cities like Spring, Texas, and Florida's Sarasota, Bradenton, Miami, and Fort Myers are among the most charitable cities in 2022.

The site also published some unique statistics detailing the year's most important contributions.

Baby formula fundraising increased by 110% in 2022, gasoline fundraising increased by 60%, and grocery fundraising increased by 10%.

In addition to the $250 million raised for Ukrainian relief, the site also recorded $2.3 million donated to the eagle and girl scout projects, $9 million donated to various places of worship, $150,000 donated to veterans, $50 million donated to help cats and dogs, and $108 million donated to rebuild houses after natural disasters.

Despite the current economic climate, the United States continues to provide for those in need.

Following Thanksgiving, GivingTuesday has raised a record $3.1 billion donated to charitable causes in the United States within 24 hours, Yahoo reported.

Asha Curran, the founder, and CEO of GivingTuesday, noted that despite a challenging economic year for many households due to inflation in the expenses of essential items, gas, and housing, individuals were still willing to give.

Hollywood Stars' GoFundMe Donations

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher's GoFundMe campaign to aid Ukrainian refugees from the ongoing civil war was the second largest in the platform's history, with over 76,000 users chipping in.

PEOPLE reported that over $37 million had been donated to date through Stand With Ukraine, which helps fund flexport.org and airbnb.org, two groups that provide supplies and temporary shelter to millions of refugees.

Kunis said, "We can't become desensitized," in PEOPLE's 2022 People of the Year Issue.

Kunis added that "helping - not even asking, just doing - should be our standard norm."

Kate Winslet is another Hollywood star to make a difference this year; she gave $17,000 (£17,000) to a mother named Carolynne Hunter, whose kid has severe cerebral palsy and needs oxygen all night long.

Also, NFL player Kris Boyd collected over $30,000 GoFundMe donations to support families affected by the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Author Nora Roberts gave $50,000 to a library in Michigan that lost funding because it refused to remove gay books from its shelves.

Hugh Grant gave £100,000 to a plumber so that he could keep providing free services to the elderly and disabled.

Moreover, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney gave £10,000 GoFundMe donations (roughly $12,136) to aid a young girl in the United Kingdom with an aggressive brain tumor.
