Tom Brady Consulted Ex-wife Gisele Bundchen Regarding NFL Retirement Decision

Tom Brady has reportedly talked to his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen before coming to a conclusion on his NFL retirement decision.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback reportedly talked the decision to his ex-wife, with one source noting that the Bundchen had been a "real rock" to Brady throughout the process, according to the Daily Mail.

The source added that the two are co-parenting and are on "cordial terms."

When Brady posted his announcement, the supermodel expressed her support and said that she wished him "only wonderful things in this new chapter of your life."

During his retirement announcement, he also shared a series of photos throughout his career showing him surrounded by family and loved ones.

There was also one photo with Bundchen and the three children. The Brazilian supermodel and Brady share a son Benjamin, 13, and a daughter Vivian, 10.

Brady has a 15-year-old son, Jack, whom he shares with ex-partner Bridget Moynahan.

Tom Brady's NFL Retirement

A week ago, Brady announced in a short video clip that he would be "retiring for good," saying that they only get "one super emotional retirement essay and I used mine up last year."

He then thanked his friends, family, teammates, and competitors during his NFL career, adding that he "wouldn't change a thing."

The former quarterback said on his Twitter post that he "loved" his NFL career, with now aimed to focus on other things that require his attention.

Brady's statement said that he has done a lot of reflecting in the past week and has asked himself difficult questions.

He said he was proud of what he had achieved and that it would be best to leave the "field of play to the next generation of dedicated and committed athletes."

In October, he once said that he loves the sport and his teammates, adding that he sees "no retirement" in his future."

Tom Brady Sr. also commented on his son's retirement, saying that there is no training or plans on training anymore, according to NBC Sports.

Brady Sr. said he thinks his son has got a full commitment to taking care of his children this year.

Tom Brady's Fox Sports Deal

In an interview with "The Herd," Brady opened up about his upcoming broadcasting career, saying that it would be a great opportunity for him to take some time to prepare for the Fox broadcasting job.

Fox did not formally disclose the terms of Brady's deal with the broadcasting company, but it was reported that Brady signed a 10-year deal worth $375 million, which was considered to be the most lucrative in sports broadcasting history, according to ESPN.

Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch said that Brady will be broadcasting with lead play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and also work as an "ambassador" for the network with a focus on "client and promotional initiatives."

Brady acknowledged the adjustment he had to make and said he wanted to be great at what he does, adding that he knows it would take some time to learn, grow, and evolve in the new field.
