Mexican singer Said Pichardo, the former boyfriend of Cuban actress Livia Brito, was arrested in Mexico City on Monday after police officers who responded to his home found illegal drugs, firearms, and large amounts of cash.

According to Infobae, police confiscated three long firearms, two handguns, several bags of marijuana, more than "100 doses" of cocaine, a Lamborghini car, five motorcycles, 10 million pesos in cash (US$542,000), and about US$40,000 in the singer's home in Fuentes del Pedregal.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City said seven people, including Pichardo, were arrested after police raided the singer's home, Univision reported. But four people were eventually released.

The raid was reportedly carried out after Said's neighbors complained about his late-night parties, with armed people behaving strangely arriving at his place. Neighbors also alleged that illegal drugs were consumed in the place and that the armed individuals intimidated neighbors and others passing through the area.

In a press briefing, Mexico City police chief Omar Garcia Harfuch said the presence of different people carrying firearms on the property was confirmed, and after collecting more evidence, authorities obtained a search warrant. Police then conducted the raid that resulted in the arrest of Pichardo and others.

This news reportedly caused a stir since it involved Livia Brito's ex-boyfriend. Brito, a popular Cuban actress living in Mexico, has yet to react to this matter. Said Pichardo has also not yet issued any statement about his arrest.
