Former U.S. President Donald Trump has scrutinized media mogul Fox News for "promoting" Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis "so hard and so much."

Trump went on to say that the promotion for the Republican governor has not left "much time" for "Real News," as reported by The Hill.

He also accused the network of underplaying a new poll showing him with a "double-digit" lead against DeSantis in a possible 2024 Republican presidential primary match-up.

Trump was referring to a poll that showed him leading DeSantis by 15 points in the hypothetical match-up.

Aside from alleging that the network was promoting DeSantis, he also dubbed Fox News a "RINO" network, an acronym for Republican in Name Only.

Aside from Fox News, he also slammed evangelical groups and Jewish key figures for being "disloyal" to him after the party's lukewarm performance results in the midterm elections.

Rolling Stone reported that Trump is already getting ahead and accusing that the 2024 election will be stolen.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social account that "crooked Democrat Prosecutors" are attempting to "steal a second Presidential Election."

He went on to say that the group did it in 2020, and they will not be allowing it to happen again in 2024.

Rupert Murdoch's Testimony

The owner of Fox News, Rupert Murdoch, was reported to have acknowledged under oath that several Fox News hosts endorsed Trump's false claims about the 2020 election, falsely accusing that it was stolen from him.

Murdoch made the admission in the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit filed against the network by Dominion Voting Systems, which was the voting company used in the 2020 election.

Dominion Voting Systems has accused Fox News and its affiliated company, Fox Corporation, of maligning its reputation, according to The Guardian.

Murdoch named Fox News hosts in his deposition as those who have "endorsed" the false claims spread by Trump. The names included Maria Bartiromo, Lou Dobbs, Sean Hannity, and Jeanine Pirro.

The defamation case filed by the voting company was described as a "landmark," with one Harvard law professor noting that he had "never seen a defamation case" with such proof leading the defendant to admit in writing that it was "making up fake information" for viewership and revenues.

Donald Trump and Fox News

Trump and the media giant had a cordial relationship during his presidency.

One media expert who wrote a 2016 book about the network's influence on American politics, Daniel Cassino, noted that Trump was getting all the coverage at the time. However, he noted that there has been a change, with Trump not "dominating Fox the way he did before."

The Hill noted in 2022 that other Murdoch-owned media outlets also dismissed editorials critical of Trump in the wake of the Capitol riot, with the Wall Street Journal and New York Post slamming Trump for his Jan. 6 response.

In a statement, Trump earlier said that Fox, the Journal, and the Post have always been against him until he won.
