A lucky person in Chicago with a Powerball ticket matching all five regular numbers in Saturday's drawing is now $1 million richer before taxes.

According to WGN9, the Powerball winning ticket was bought at Clarendon Food Wine Spirits on N. Clarendon Avenue in Chicago. The Powerball winning numbers for the February 25 or Saturday night drawing were 11, 24, 58, 66, 67, and the Powerball was 26. The Power Play was 3X.

Bhupendra Patel, the store's owner, told Illinois Lottery officials that the winning ticket was purchased by one of his regular customers. Patel will receive a $10,000 check for selling the Powerball ticket. The Chicago winner has one year from the date of the draw to claim the winnings.

As of this writing, a $2 million winning lottery ticket in Delaware also remained unclaimed. According to Delaware Online, the Powerball ticket was purchased at a Wawa on Capitol Trail near Newark. But the lucky winner has yet to claim the prize.

Lottery officials noted that the $3 ticket matched the numbers on all five white balls on Saturday night's drawing to net a $1 million prize but doubled its worth because it was a Power Play ticket. Lottery officials urged all Powerball players to check their tickets to know if the winning numbers belong to them.

Powerball Winning Numbers for Wednesday Drawing; Jackpot Climbs to $161 Million

The Powerball jackpot for March 1 or Wednesday night's drawing was worth an estimated $143 million, with a cash option of $73 million. According to Courier Journal, the Powerball winning numbers were 2, 9, 28, 36, 53, and the Powerball was 4. The Power Play was 2X.

So since nobody won the grand prize, the Powerball jackpot climbs to $161 million for Saturday night's drawing. It reportedly has a cash option of $82.2 million. The odds of winning were a measly one in about 292.2 million, which means there was a very low chance of winning the top prize.

How to Play Powerball Lottery

Powerball is being played in 45 states, as well as in Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Each ticket costs $2.  The player can choose or opt to randomly receive five numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls and one number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball.

To win the Powerball jackpot, your numbers must match the five white balls and red Powerball. Powerball also offers eight more opportunities to win a prize across the game's non-jackpot tiers, depending on the number of balls matched.

Non-jackpot prizes are between $4 and $1 million, and a prize could go higher if you opt into "Powerplay" by paying an extra $1. Powerplay multiplies non-jackpot winning money by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 10.

The 10X Powerplay option is only available when the prize is $150 million or below. The Powerball game's second-tier "Match 5" prize is capped at $2 million for the Powerplay.

Players have another chance to match their numbers after each Powerball drawing through the additional add-on feature called "Double Play," which s available in some jurisdictions for $1 per play. Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET.
