Former U.S. President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday to 34 felony counts of falsifying documents in light of an alleged sex scheme cover-up involving Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential bid.

Trump made his way to the New York Court, posting on his Truth Social account, "Wow they are going to arrest me," according to PEOPLE.

His arrest had garnered several reactions from several people, including social media users tuning in to the details and developments of his arrest.

Although some lauded the arrest of the former president, some are dubious of the charges against him.

Republicans on Donald Trump Arrest

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz said in a tweet that the arrest and arraignment of the former president are "making a mockery of the rule of law."

Cruz went on to say in a tweet that the "political persecution" is a "dark day for our country." The lawmaker also described the indictment as "frivolous."

Rep. George Santos also went out to support Donald Trump, saying that he was not out there "for the cameras," and just wanted to express his support to the president as he thinks the indictment is "unprecedented."

CBS News reported that Santos noted it was a bad day for democracy. Santos has been making headlines since he was elected as a New York representative due to lies about his biography during his campaign period, including investigations on allegations of fraud.

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene also expressed her support outside the courthouse with her speech criticizing Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Greene likened Trump in an interview on the conservative Right Side Broadcasting Network to Jesus and Nelson Mandela, as reported by The New Republic.

Mandela was known to have opposed racial segregation in South Africa, while Jesus was persecuted for performing miracles.

Meanwhile, Trump was indicted for his alleged role in covering up a hush-money payment to Daniels before the 2016 presidential elections.

Stormy Daniels, Others' Reaction to Donald Trump Arrest

Daniels broke her silence amid the arrest of Trump. In a tweet, she noted that people keep on calling her "c-dumpster" like it is a bad thing.

The porn star went on to say that it is "definitely more fun being under my sexy man instead of under arrest."

Some social media users replied to Daniels' tweet with an image with a text saying, "Have you ever met someone so stupid you felt bad for their dog?"

Daniels replied by saying, "yup." She then added that she thought Melania "is the only pet Tiny has."

Hollywood late-night host Jimmy Kimmel also delivered a quick jab against Jared Kushner, who is Trump's son-in-law." Kimmel posted a photo of Kushner in his tweet with the caption, "When all your dads end up in jail."

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell also commented on the former president's arrest, saying that "justice benefits all of us," as cited by ABC News.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre answered questions about whether U.S. President Joe Biden is monitoring the case, saying that it is not something Biden focuses on.
