Elon Musk made another statement regarding his recently acquired social media company Twitter and the possibility of selling it to another owner in the future.

Musk was asked in a BBC interview conducted on Twitter Spaces whether he would sell Twitter if someone were to offer him $44 billion for the social media company, which was the same amount that Musk paid when he bought the company, according to PC Mag.

The billionaire and Tesla CEO initially refused to hypothetical offer but backtracked and said that it would depend "on who" would make the offer to buy.

He added that if he was confident that the person would "vigorously pursue the truth," he would be "glad to hand it over to someone else."

Musk went on to say that he does not care about the money but wants to have some "source of truth that I can count on."

BBC reporter James Clayton then said that if the billionaire does not care about the money, Musk could just give it to someone he thinks would be a good person to run Twitter.

Musk then asked who could be the right person for such a task, to which Clayton replied, "Honestly, I have no idea."

Twitter Since Elon Musk Took Over

Aside from the possibility of selling Twitter, Elon Musk has also recounted his experience owning one of the largest social media platforms, saying that it has never been boring but admitted that it was "quite stressful over the last several months."

NDTV noted that Musk then said that the workload would sometimes mean him sleeping in the office, describing his spot on a couch in a library "that no one goes to."

Musk has made several changes upon the acquisition of Twitter. Among the changes include letting go of some Twitter employees and executives and selling some of the company's furniture in an attempt to cut costs and ramp up the company's income.

An anonymous engineer noted in a Business Insider report that Musk tried to get Twitter's staff to buy its office plant.

The engineer was a BBC source that was not named as he is still employed in the company. The source claimed that Musk's focus at the company "was on money."

Musk has also cut back on free food since he took over and laid off thousands of staff.

Twitter has also paid some legal challenges after the company failed to pay bills, including millions of dollars of rent for its San Francisco office.

Elon Musk Twitter Acquisition

The widely watched Elon Musk Twitter acquisition for $44 billion was completed in October 2022, as reported by The New York Times.

The new ownership of Twitter started with the sacking of at least four top Twitter executives, including the chief executive and chief financial officer.

Some Republicans celebrated the acquisition. Many Republican key figures have been censored on Twitter for conservative viewpoints.

At the time of his procurement, Musk said that Twitter has "tremendous potential," adding that he looks forward to the company and the community of users to "unlock it."
