Oscar-winning actor-singer Jamie Foxx has suffered a medical scare and has been hospitalized in Georgia. This was due to a medical complication, which his daughter confirmed on Instagram.

A source with knowledge of the actor-singer's situation told CNN that Jamie Foxx is still under observation. However, his daughter, Corrine Foxx, stated that her father is already "on his way to recovery." She did not specify what exactly is her father's medical condition.

In her statement, Corrine Foxx wrote that her father received "quick action and great care" and appreciated the prayers from everyone. However, she added, "The family asks for privacy during this time."

So far, the exact nature of what happened has not been revealed to the public. However, the source told CNN that Foxx was transported by an emergency vehicle, and it did not take place while on the set of the Netflix movie, "Back in Action," which Fox is currently filming.

A spokesperson for the Oscar winner did not comment on anything beyond Corrine Foxx's Instagram post. "Nothing more, at this time, than what was posted," spokesperson Alan Nierob told CNN via email.

Jamie Foxx's Netflix Movie Cancels Day of Filming After Suffering Medical Emergency

Foxx was reportedly in Georgia because he was filming a Netflix movie titled "Back in Action." However, following his hospitalization, a source with knowledge of the situation told PEOPLE magazine that filming was "shut down" on Wednesday.

Filming on the set resumed on Thursday as they used a stand-in for the Oscar winner, according to the source. An email received by PEOPLE noted that extras for the film were informed that a scene set to film this Sunday has been canceled due to "changes in production."

This scene will not be rescheduled due to the changes, though those scenes that have been scheduled to be filmed on Monday and Tuesday will be moving forward as planned.

Foxx is filming "Back in Action" for Netflix with other big stars, including Glenn Close and Cameron Diaz. The filming is ongoing in Atlanta and is Diaz's first big movie project since "Annie" back in 2014, in which she also starred alongside Jamie Foxx.

Diaz and Close were seen filming in Atlanta along with Foxx, though he and the "There's Something About Mary" star have been spotted filming together in London and the English countryside multiple times.

Jamie Foxx and His Daughters

The incident has placed a new spotlight on Foxx's children, Corrine and Anelise, both of whom Foxx has reflected on their growth and what it is like raising two daughters.

"Your daughters are special, man. Your daughters are special. And as a father you want that person who is dating your daughter to know that there will quite possibly be a chance that they won't survive life," said the actor during a 2021 interview.

According to Us Weekly, the actor-singer has been infamous for terrorizing his daughters' potential suitors, as he infamously talked about meeting one of Corinne's childhood flames.

"First of all, I'm a private eye and so by the time [Corinne] got the person there, I already knew everything about him," the actor told his daughter's date. "This is so surreal, Snoop [Dogg] was at my house. So she brings the guy by, to the crib, and I say, 'Yo Snoop, there he is right there. Shake him up.'"
