Derrick Rose declared that he will be ready to play when the Chicago Bulls begin their campaign next season, but the superstar point guard is still unsure whether or not he will play for USA in the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup.

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports, Rose, who sustained a torn meniscus in his right knee in his 10th game last season, said that he will definitely play in Chicago's 2013-14 season opener or even in their pre-season games.

Rose, who has been playing 5-on-5 games over the past several months and is planning to train with the Bulls' summer league team, said that he will be a man on a mission next season.

"For sure. That's not a concern," Rose said when asked if he is ready to play in their season-opener. "I'm on a mission. I'm just trying to get better. I'm taking it day by day. I'm getting the best out of every day."

But while he is confident about his health, Rose said that he is still undecided on whether or not he will participate in the USA Basketball training camp scheduled next month.

USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski wants Rose to be a part of the team that will compete in the FIBA World Cup in Spain, but the 25-year-old point guard said that he is not thinking about that yet.

"I still don't know yet," Rose said. "If I'm feeling right and the time is [right], for sure I will go out there. My body is responding good, but you never know. Right now, I haven't really thought about that. I am just worrying about just trying to get back every day and I'm really taking rehab one day at a time."

Bulls fans are hoping that Rose, who averaged 15.9 points to go along with 4.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 10 games last season, will see action when Team USA face Brazil in Chicago on Aug. 16.

Rose said that playing for USA in front of Chicago fans will be a good experience for him, but he insisted that he is just focusing on his rehabilitation at this point of the offseason.
