Authorities conducted a wellness check on Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant following his cryptic social media posts Wednesday, according to TMZ Sports. Thankfully, the officers discovered that Morant was in good condition.

Following Ja Morant's Instagram post, police were dispatched to his residence in Tennessee. A Shelby County Sheriff's Office representative confirmed that the NBA athlete informed them of his decision to take a temporary break from social media.

Reassuring concerned journalists, the spokesperson stated unequivocally, "He is fine."

The worry surrounding Morant's well-being stemmed from his recent posts featuring pictures of himself alongside his mother, father, and daughter, accompanied by the solitary message "bye."

Shortly after that, these posts were subsequently removed.

Fans expressed their apprehension for the 23-year-old basketball star, given the recent incidents involving him where he was caught on video brandishing a firearm, marking the second occurrence in less than three months.

Fortunately, it appears that the situation has been resolved without any harm, providing some relief to those who follow Morant's career.

Ja Morant Suspension

Recently, a video purportedly showing NBA player Ja Morant displaying a gun has emerged online, immediately suspending all team activities. This incident marks the second instance within three months where the two-time All-Star has displayed a gun on social media, per Fox Sports.

Morant faced significant consequences in March for a previous video, resulting in a hefty fine of $669,000 and an eight-game suspension. However, the repercussions of the current incident may prove even more substantial, given that Morant is set to commence his lucrative five-year, $194 million max contract in the upcoming season.

Video circulated on the internet on May 13 featuring an associate of Morant live-streaming while the basketball player held what appeared to be a firearm from the passenger seat of a vehicle. This occurrence follows Morant's previous video, where he was observed displaying a weapon within a nightclub setting.

Reacting to the recent incident, the Memphis Grizzlies promptly removed Morant from all team activities on May 14, pending the league's investigation.

Regarding financial implications, if the NBA salary cap reaches $134 million during the 2023-24 season, Morant would earn $33.5 million. However, a suspension of 20 games or less would result in a loss of $231,034 per game, while a suspension of 21 games or more would further increase the financial setback to $304,545 per game.

Nike Removes Ja Morant's Sneakers From Its Website

Amid the recent controversy surrounding Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant and his involvement in a gun-related incident, his highly anticipated sneaker line with Nike may have been canceled.

This news comes as a blow to fans and enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the release of the Ja 1 athletic shoes following Nike's decision to replace Kyrie Irving with the Memphis Grizzlies guard.

Nike has removed the Ja 1 sneakers, initially launched in April, from their official online store. The store should have included these sneakers and other Ja Morant-related items.

However, it is worth noting that a few of Morant's T-shirts remained available for purchase on Nike's online platform.

Interestingly, despite the potential cancellation of the sneaker line, an upcoming mismatched "hunger" colorway of the Ja 1 shoes, initially scheduled for release on May 25, is still listed as "upcoming" on Nike's SNKRS app.

Furthermore, alternative retailers such as Dick's Sporting Goods and Flight Club continue to offer the Nike Ja 1 Sneakers for sale.
