Saudi Arabia is showing that it has a lot of oil money as it just made a record-breaking offer to French star Kylian Mbappe to transfer to Al Hilal.

His current team, Paris Saint-Germaine, has permitted the French superstar to talk to Al Hilal after the Saudi Arabian team offered a world-record fee of around $332 million. The team reportedly wants to offer the Frenchman $776 million to play for them for a year.

According to CBS Sports, Kylian Mbappe is still under contract with PSG but his contract is expiring soon. However, he has made it clear that he does not want to extend his deal until 2025 under any circumstances.

Al Hilal is backed by the Saudi government's Public Investment Fund, which is responsible for all the WWE shows in the country, as well as bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to Al Nassr. The club previously tried bringing in Mbappe's former teammate at PSG, Lionel Messi, also with a massive record-breaking amount of money, but the Argentinian turned it down to play for Inter Miami instead.

It is noted that teams backed by the Public Investment Fund have been splashing on big-name players to join Saudi Pro League clubs and are willing to fork over money that most European and American teams cannot even match.

FC Barcelona Also Vying To Land Kylian Mbappe

Al Hilal finds itself a familiar rival in trying to land a star player, and that is FC Barcelona, which also tried to woo back its former star, Lionel Messi. However, it seems that Mbappe might join the Spanish side instead as the Frenchman is holding talks with the club.

PSG is basically forced to get rid of Mbappe rather than lose him when his contract finally expires next year. According to Barca News, the Blaugrana are willing to place several players on the table just to acquire the Le Bleus star. It should be noted, however, that, unlike the Saudis, Barcelona is facing some financial troubles, but it seems that they are hoping Mbappe might solve that.

The two clubs are now in talks to discuss Mbappe's transfer. However, because of the club's financial situation, the club does not really look to have much of a chance to land Mbappe, as noted by experts. Instead, the French national might land in rival team Real Madrid.

NBA Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Reacts to Kylian Mbappe's Offer From Al-Hilal

Al-Hilal's offer to land Kylian Mbappe has certainly turned a lot of heads, especially back in the US where Milwaukee Bucks forward and former NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo reacted to the offer.

Mbappe does not seem to be very keen on the move, though Giannis jokingly says that he wants to take up the record-breaking offer as he looks like the Frenchman.

Al-Hilal, however, responded to the "Greek Freak's" offer to take the offer and instead said that he is welcome to join them... as a fan.
