Former President Donald Trump may have enjoyed watching his supporters chant "Hang Mike Pence!" as they stormed the Capitol during January 6, as revealed in former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson's new book, "Enough."

Hutchinson, who served as an aide to White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, grabbed national attention last year, thanks to her testimony before the House January 6 Committee. With her new book, she revealed several more bombshells from that fateful day, including being groped by then-Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani.

However, she also wrote about the president's actions as the pro-Trump mob was invading the Capitol, and an excerpt about one of those incidents was just released.

"I take a few steps back as Mark takes my place in the doorway and strain to listen to both conversations," she wrote in her book. "The TV in the Oval dining room is blaring, and the president is yelling. What's he saying? I can't make it out. I hear him say 'hang' repeatedly. Hang? What's that about? Mark hands his phone back to me, the cue for me to return to my desk."

In her January 6 Committee testimony, Hutchinson claimed that she overheard then-White House counsel Pat Cipollone and then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows talking about Trump's reaction to people calling to hang his own vice president. She claimed that Trump thought that Pence "deserves" to be hanged after rejecting the then-POTUS's plan to overturn the election.

According to ABC News, Hutchinson also had other claims in her book regarding the last few days of the Trump presidency. This includes her then-boss, Mark Meadows, regularly burning documents in the fireplace of his office. She claimed that his wife often complained about the dry-cleaning cost of his suits as they tried to get rid of the "bonfire" smell.

Donald Trump Falsely Claimed That Windmills Were Killing Whales

As for Trump, the president was recently in South Carolina for a rally. There, he suggested without giving any evidence that windmills are generating electricity that drives whales "crazy" and forces them to die and wash ashore "on a weekly basis."

According to the BBC, Trump's claims came after several whales died near offshore wind farms off the US East Coast, This sparked hundreds of posts on social media linking windmills to whale deaths. However, those claims do not have any scientific backing as there is no evidence that actually links the deaths to the windmills.

An investigation by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration found that most of the deaths were more linked to human interaction, such as becoming entangled in fishing nets or being struck by vessels traveling through their feeding grounds.

2024 Voters Concerned About Donald Trump's Charges

As Trump continues on the campaign trail, however, voters are expressing more concerns regarding his criminal charges.

A new NBC News poll showed that while many of his die-hard supporters are unfazed by the charges, even if presented with strong evidence, many outside his base are actually showing concerns. Around 62% of the respondents have shown either major or moderate concerns about Trump's indictments, while only 37% say they do not care or only had minor concerns.
