After being cancelled by TV network NBC to the dismay of its fans, "Community" will be revived for a sixth season that is set to be released on Yahoo Screen's online television this fall.

Dan Harmon, the creator of the television show, along with the cast members Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Ken Jeong, and Jim Rash have all signed on for the upcoming season. Harmon said that he is very pleased with the return of "Community" as he looks forward to bringing the sitcom to a larger audience reach by going online. He followed up by vowing to dominate the show's new competition. McHale also expressed his excitement, joking how they can now swear on the show because it's going to be on the internet rather than television.

Ratings for the past few seasons have been on the bubble until NBC finally announced the show's cancellation back in May, but fans did not give up on the show's return. Since then, there have been speculations about "Community" going online to find a new home for the show and now it's actually happening.

Despite not getting the best ratings, Harmon and the cast delivered a show of good quality. They have also previously shown their intentions of not giving up and continue to fight should NBC decide to pull the plug. Still, Harmon and company had their fair share of hurdles, including behind-the-scenes drama.

While the future of "Community" was not very promising as it continued to air, Harmon remained optimistic as he spoke about the show's many possibilities ahead. Now, all of that drama can be left behind as "Community" will continue in a slightly different format. Season 6 will be having 13 episodes shown weekly beginning with its release this coming fall, meaning fans can expect their beloved Greendale Gang to come back very soon.
