CBS has revealed the castaways and twists for 'Survivor: Blood vs. Water,' the 27th installment of the hit reality TV series.

In an interview with E! News back in May, CBS president Nina Tassler revealed that the upcoming season would feature returning castaways and their relatives.

This was confirmed yesterday, when CBS revealed the identities of the 10 returning players and their subsequent relatives and loved ones.

Castaways for the upcoming season include Season 2 winner Tina Wesson and her daughter; 'Survivor: Panama' winner Aras Baskauskas and his brother; and Rupert Boneham and his wife.

This will be Boneham's fourth time on the show.

'Survivor' host Jeff Probst recently told EW.com that one the major twists this upcoming season is that the returning castaways will be competing against their relatives. Probst also revealed many other twists and spoilers.

The game will now be 39-and-a-half days long instead of the usual 39, Probst told EW. The night before day one, the 10 pairs will be sent to different locations to spend the night by themselves.

"The whole idea was to try and get them thinking and maybe believing that they would play as a pair," he told EW.

Aside from splitting the pairs into two different teams and pitting them against each other, Probst also revealed that moments after the teams are put together, each team will vote someone off before the real competition begins.

The teams will later be notified that the people voted out have actually been sent to Redemption Island and will have a chance to return, which is part of the game that has been absent for three seasons, Probst told EW.

As if that twist wasn't enough, Probst revealed that the loved ones of those sent to Redemption Island will have the opportunity to take their places.

He also mentioned that there will be competitions conducted on Redemption Island, and winners of those competitions have the opportunity to give anyone in either tribe a clue to the location of the infamous immunity idol.

'Survivor: Blood vs. Water,' premieres Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, with a 90-minute episode.
