Jury selection for two of Donald Trump's Georgia case co-defendants, Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro, is now underway as their defense attorneys and Georgia prosecutors argue on the questions that potential jurors would be asked.

The attorneys representing Powell and Chesebro have already met with prosecutors and the judge overseeing the case, and they do not seem to agree on which questions should be included in the questionnaire that would be given to the first group of 450 prospective jurors when they arrive on Friday.

As the Associated Press noted, Powell is accused of participating in a breach of election equipment in rural Coffee County, while Chesebro is accused of hashing out the fake elector scheme. They each exercised their right to demand a speedy trial, with Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee granting them their request to have their trial ahead of the other RICO defendants, including Donald Trump himself.

As a result of their asking for an earlier trial, Powell and Chesebro will be tried in front of a jury starting October 23. Because of this date, the juror questionnaire must be finished before the potential jurors arrive on Friday.

As the Monday hearing went on, Judge McAfee walked through parts of the draft juror questionnaire and focused on the changes each side made and where the disagreements lay. He admitted he still needed to think about some issues but noted that he would send both sides the final questionnaire this week.

Attorneys for the two former Trump-aligned attorneys asked for a favorability rating for the other defendants in the case rather than the usual question of whether they would be impartial. However, Judge McAfee expressed his concern regarding this line of questioning.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Alex Bernick objected, noting that the other defendants were not the ones on trial but their clients.

Donald Trump Georgia Case Could Have 900 Potential Jurors Over Sidney Powell/Kenneth Chesebro Trial

As the trial of the two Trump-aligned attorneys is about to start, CBS News reported that Judge Scott McAfee could be calling 900 prospective jurors to appear in court. A subpoena has now been issued for all 900 people.

The first batch of 450 is scheduled to appear on October 20, while the next batch of 450 potential jurors is scheduled to appear on October 27. This number of potential jurors is considered high by legal scholars but is notably understandable given the case.

Alex Jones and Ronna McDaniel Are Potential Witnesses During Sidney Powell/Kenneth Chesebro Trial

As both sides are arguing over the jury questions, two notable Donald Trump allies may be called in as witnesses for the Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro trial in Georgia. They are Republican Party Chair Ronna McDaniel and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

According to the Associated Press, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has already filed the necessary paperwork needed to compel these out-of-state witnesses to testify. Andrew Hitt, who was chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party in late 2020, is another potential witness.

Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn and former Trump attorney Lin Wood are also potential witnesses, with Willis filing similar paperwork for their testimonies last week.
