Several Mexico nationals have been behaving badly in a foreign country as they robbed a Turkish tourist and wounded him, leading to their arrest in the island resort paradise of Bali, Indonesia, one of the biggest tourist destinations on Earth.

According to the Jakarta Globe, the three Mexican nationals were arrested through a collaboration between the Bali Regional Police and the Turkish National Police. They were reportedly apprehended in a residential area in Ungasan, South Kuta, Bali on Saturday,

There is actually a fourth Mexican suspect, but he managed to evade capture when police arrived in the place that the suspects have been staying in since December 7, 2023. The motive for the attack on the Turkish tourist is still under investigation, says a police source. However, authorities suspect that the attack may be linked to an extortion attempt by the victim, who has been identified as "a 30-year-old Turkish national," Turan Mehmet.

"The three Mexican nationals were apprehended while sleeping in one of the houses around 07:00 AM local time. They were arrested without any resistance," an unnamed source told a local news outlet.

At the place where the suspects from Mexico were staying, police found various pieces of evidence, including helmets, shoes, flip-flops, clothing, gloves, mobile phones, and their passports. The police also found ash amounting to Rp 10 million ($632), with the police still looking for the gun used in the shooting of the tourist.

The public relations officer of the Badung Resort Police in Bali, meanwhile, did not confirm nor deny the arrest of the three tourists from Mexico, with a spokesperson saying, "Details will be revealed at the Bali Regional Police Headquarters."
