He may not be part of the US House of Representatives anymore, but Kevin McCarthy just held a press conference that slammed embattled Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, the man accused of child sex trafficking and also responsible for McCarthy's ouster as Speaker of the House.

The ousted former California Republican representative targeted his arch nemesis, Gaetz, during that scathing press conference, which was his first one since leaving the House of Representatives back in December.

McCarthy was asked about Gaetz's resolution to defend Donald Trump from accusations of leading the January 6 Capitol Insurrection back in 2021 as an attempt to shield the former president from the various legal challenges that may kick him off the ballot in this year's presidential elections.

"Is he trying to deflect from what's happening in Ethics? I don't know what happened," answered McCarthy as he was asked about the new Gaetz resolution by The Independent. However, this turned the questioning to the Matt Gaetz sex trafficking scandal and its subsequent House Ethics Committee investigation.

The former California congressman stated that he did not know much about the committee's investigation but did claim that his former colleague and current arch-nemesis had been "very concerned" about it when McCarthy was still speaker. The former speaker then added that Gaetz asked him "to do something about it," which McCarthy refused, explaining that such action "would be illegal."

At another point in that press conference, Kevin McCarthy once again alluded to the Matt Gaetz Ethics Probe, saying, "He probably lies about who he sleeps with too."

Gaetz's former friend and political ally Joel Greenberg has reportedly already provided documents to the House Ethics Committee regarding the Florida congressman's child sex trafficking activities.

According to Yahoo! News, Greenberg is one of the star witnesses against Gaetz and is currently serving an 11-year prison sentence over child sex trafficking himself. He began aiding the investigation into Gaetz after receiving a request from the Ethics Committee.

Should Matt Gaetz be found guilty of his child sex trafficking crimes, he faces a minimum of 10 years in prison.

Matt Gaetz Slammed Over Super Bowl Boycott

Meanwhile, Matt Gaetz decided to boycott the Super Bowl over the performance of the Black National Anthem, "Lift Every Voice and Sing." His boycott did not go over well, and he was even accused of race-baiting.

Andra Day sang "Lift Every Voice and Sing" before Post Malone performed "America the Beautiful," with Reba McEntire finishing the opening performances off with "The Star-Spangled Banner." However, Gaetz did not like the addition of the first song, and his post on X garnered over 6,000 replies, many of which accused Gaetz of being racist in addition to being a pedophile sex trafficker.
