South America International soccer is back in full swing after a two-month break, following the exciting Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia in Miami.

The CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers resumed with incredible games on matchday 7. Bolivia kicked things off with a decisive 4-0 victory over Venezuela at the Estadio Municipal Villa Ingenio in Bolivia. Goals from Ramiro Vaca, Carmelo Algarañaz, Miguel Terceros, and Enzo Monteiro ensured a dominant performance for the Bolivian side.

The spotlight then shifted to Buenos Aires, where Argentina faced Chile at the Estadio Monumental. The reigning Copa America and World Cup champions took on a Chilean team desperate for a win to climb out of the lower rungs of the qualifying table.

In a heartwarming pre-match tribute, Argentina honored Ángel Di María thats retired from international soccer. Despite the absence of Lionel Messi due to injury, and with a new wave of young talent taking the stage, Argentina delivered a dominant performance under coach Lionel Scaloni. The Albiceleste secured a 3-0 victory over Chile, thanks to goals from Alexis MacAllister, Julian Alvarez, and Paulo Dybala. With this win, Argentina comfortably sits at the top of the standings with six wins and one loss from seven games.

The action continues on Friday, September 6, with a packed schedule:

  • Uruguay vs Paraguay: Uruguay, holding a strong second position, faces Paraguay, who are in dire need of a win.
  • Brazil vs Ecuador: The Brazilian team, surprisingly low in the table, will take on Ecuador in a crucial clash.
  • Peru vs Colombia: Peru, still searching for their first victory, will battle it out with a Colombian side that, despite being Copa America runners-up, sits comfortably in third place.
