No sport puts more emphasis on their All-Star game then Major League Baseball does.

Both the American and National League meet up and duel annually to determine which league will get home field advantage in the upcoming World Series. And the best of the best from around baseball will gather at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota Tuesday night for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game, with the winner gaining home field advantage in the World Series.

Latin Post.com breaks down the roster and everything else fans need to know for Tuesday's star-studded baseball gala:

Preview

There's a lot of storylines heading into this year's All-Star Game. The starting pitchers have been announced by managers Mike Matheny of the NL and John Farrell of the AL. Venezuelan pitcher Félix Hernández will get the start for the AL, as he was selected to his fifth All-Star Game. Adam Wainwright will be starting for the National League.

Unfortunately for fans, the home run derby was delayed for an hour because of rain. It was also the coldest home run derby ever played. Commissioner Bud Selig is hoping fans won't have to put up with this again Tuesday night at Target Field.

The game of baseball has always been popular in Latin America, particularly Cuba. This year, Cuban talents have been showcased to the highest degree, especially from the younger generations. Five Cuban-born players will be featured in this year's MLB All-Star Game, the most in 40 years. The most well known are Yasiel Puig, José Abreu and Aroldis Chapman. Chapman is making his third consecutive All-Star appearance, Abreu has hit a league-leading 29 home runs as a rookie, and Puig is one of the most exciting players in all of baseball.

This will also be the final All-Star game for Captain Clutch, Derek Jeter. Jeter was selected to his 14th All-Star Game and received the highest amount of votes of any shortstop. The five-time World Series champion will be leading off for the American League.

This year, the American League will serve as the home team.
